  • His career as a wine critic spans over 40 years.
  • His found the wineries Brokenwood and Coldstream Hills in Australia.
  • He began writing in 1976 and has contributed to more than 56 books on wine.
  • He is the author of The Australian Wine Companion, the latest is his 2010 edition.
  • In The Australian Wine Companion, he profiled over 1,400 wineries and set out tasting notes of over 5,800 wines from Australia.
